Hooray for Hollywood!
We’ll tell you more about Hollywood in a moment.
As we mentioned we are staying at the Beverly Hills Hilton. We selected this hotel because Crystal is hosting the World Cruise Gala at the Hotel. This hotel has gone through a substantial renovation. All of the rooms, hallways and many other interior rooms of the hotel have been redone. The location of the hotel has worked out very well.
This evening the Golden Globe Awards was still held at the Hotel, but without the actors present. Instead, those in attendance were from the press.
We enjoyed our first full day in Beverly Hills. We got a good nights sleep last evening and given how early we woke up yesterday morning we probably could have slept through an earthquake. We enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast at the Hotel.
We were supposed to meet some friends who live nearby today for lunch but one of them was ill so they had to cancel lunch with us. Hopefully, we will be able to see them later in the week.
After breakfast, we walked over to Century City, as we needed to pick up a few final items for the cruise. About a minute after entering the Westfield Century City Shopping Center, Anne Marie spotted actor Adam Sandler and his young son. We each said hi to him but we didn’t acknowledge that we knew who he is. he is. Well a minute later we saw him again and this time we did say we knew who he was and asked if we could get a picture of him and Anne Marie. He was happy to do that so Keith got a picture, which we’ve posted, on the Blog. Unfortunately, between the sun and the shade it’s not one of our better photographs, but it will due. So, while we didn’t visit Hollywood today, we felt as though we were In Hollywood.
We enjoyed the rest of the day taking several walks around the area. The weather couldn’t have been better with temperatures in the mid to high 70’s and sunny skies. Many years ago we lived in Northern California and today was a reminder about how wonderful California is with it great weather. The forecast for the rest of the week looks to be equally good so we are pleased with that.
